Ibrahim (as) story
I just finished teaching the story of Ibrahim(as) in Qasas to my first-year Alimiyyah students and thought I would share some resources that I found useful whilst teaching.
The start of the year was a bit difficult as Qasas was the student’s first exposure to Arabic vocabulary and translation. ThereforeI would give them the keywords and then some time to make sentences together. But alhamdulillah as the term progressed and they became more familiar with Arabic I taught them how to use the Hans Wehr dictionary or online app (available on Android or Apple) and they had to come to class with the vocabulary definitions already found. This allowed them to become independent in using an Arabic dictionary confidently and able to find the verb variations themselves also.

Vocabulary – story by story
You will find the vocabulay here organised into keywords for each story. Every verb will have the past tense verb and the present/future tense verb given. Every noun will have the singular and plural shown. Even though the student has not learnt the advanced grammar needed to understand how these are created. It creates familiarity in the student and aids them later in the learning. These keywords were compiled by a collegue of mine and i would like to thank her for allowing me to share them with you all on my blog.

Revision Summary Sheets
I created these sheets for my students so they could revise the content we have covered. Each sheet has vocabulary nouns and verbs for students to recall, 2 paragraphs of translation from random stories as well as a few questions regarding the context of the story and some basic practice at grammatical analysis. I would recommend you to print them in A3 to allow more space for writing.
